Sunday School: For children, there is a class for each age group and grade. For adults, there are several classes ranging from College & Career to our Fellowship class. There is an all men's and an all ladies class, a young married's class, and classes for married's that aren't as young as they used to be (but are still young at heart!). Adults are invited to visit the different classes to determine which one God wants you to join. Sunday School is the best way to get to know other members and to get involved in the church. There is always a need for help in Sunday school classes, just ask a teacher.
Discipleship Training: We offer several tracks of training ranging on topics from the Holy Spirit to Evangelism to Prayer to Spiritual gifts. Our goal is to encourage more and more people to be involved. Various classes are sometimes held in a ladies or men only format.
Church Visitation: We have an organized church wide visitation program on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. You are encouraged to attend and participate. This is a time when we go out to the homes of church visitors or members to let them know we care and to share the love of Christ with them.
Wednesday Night Prayer Service: On Wednesday evenings, there is a mid-week prayer meeting. This dedicated service to prayer provides the opportunity to lift up the needs of the church body. During the service children are encouraged to participate in the various classes for their appropriate age group such as the Youth group, GA's, RA's, & Mission Friends. We also provide a nursery for the babies.
Deacon Ministry: Here at Cedar Bay Baptist we have a Deacon staff dedicated to meeting the needs of church families. Should a need arise or you or a family member is hospitalized please contact the church office. A communication plan is in effect to notify all Staff and Deacons in order to be praying and ministering to the need. In the event you cannot reach a Deacon please contact the church office immediately.
Music Ministry: The Lord has really blessed Cedar Bay Baptist with some very talented soloists as well as a fantastic choir. If you enjoy singing or just listening, come be a part of our music ministry. We have something for all ages and all tastes. We also have a drama team that performs with the Choir for Easter and Christmas musicals.
Cottage Prayer Meetings: A Cottage Prayer Meeting is hosted in the homes of various church members. They are informal and allows for a time of sharing both prayer requests and praises with one another. We rejoice together over the praises or prayers answered and we pray together over the needs/issues that are mentioned. We start around 7pm, and yes, finger food or covered dish is appropriate for the fellowship following the Prayer meeting.
Women on Mission: WOM is a two-fold ministry. Our Women on Mission ministry serves to educate our women and support the various mission ministries of the Baptist Association such as the Annie Armstrong, Lottie Moon, and the Maguire State Missions, etc. They reach out to the community by assisting with various projects such as working with the Baptist Children's Home, North Jax Resource Center, etc. We also encourage you through our women's ministry to become involved by helping us minister within our church body by assisting the elderly, providing for the needy and a host of other services when and where needed. As part of the Women's Ministry our ladies attend an bi-annual weekend retreat for a time of fellowship and spiritual renewal. From time to time we also have "Ladies Day Out" for a time of fun and fellowship with one another.
Baptist Men: We welcome you and extend an open invitation to join us in Christian Fellowship. We encourage you to support our men's ministry through a growing relationship to God with other men. Come discover what God can do for you and through you. Baptist Men's Creed: To know the way (John 14:6) To show the way (2 Tim 2:15) To go the way (Matt 28:19-20) Our Main Goal: To serve God, and Jesus Christ out of gratitude for saving our souls. Mission Statement: To promote God's Word and His leadership in the lives of all men. Meetings: We meet on the first Saturday of every month, rotating times and months. We enjoy a meal while fellowshipping with each other. We have a time of Prayer and Bible Study afterwards for spiritual growth Meeting Times: Breakfast 8:30am
JOY (Just Older Youth): We are so blessed at Cedar Bay to have a very active Senior Adult group - known as JOY - Just Older Youth! They have a regular meeting day, the second Thursday of each month at 11:30, in the Church Fellowship hall, for a luncheon. There they have a wonderful time of fun and fellowship, and planning future activities. Not only does this group enjoy the fun side of life, but they seek special ministries they can be a part of. They are still active in the church, such as teaching, music, and the various mission groups that are available. We welcome those who are fifty and older, and enjoy Christian fellowship, to come and be a part of JOY. We look forward to seeing you there.
