Bill Tyler has served as the Senior
Pastor at Cedar Bay for almost 14 years.
He is a graduate of the Valdosta State
University with a degree in History and
Education. He also received the Masters
in Ministry degree from the Luther Rice
Seminary in Atlanta, GA.
He has been happily married to his wife
Robin for 25 years. They have three
wonderful children; Michael, Ashley and
Megan.
Cedar Bay has a “purposefully bi-vocational” ministry staff whereby Bill and other staff
members hold secular jobs allowing them to minister in the “real world”. He has a 28-year
career with the United States Postal Service where he serves as the Area Manager for the
north and south sides of Jacksonville, FL.
Bill’s daily prayer is this: “God, I know you are at work…don’t let me do anything to mess it
up!”
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Woody Bazzell
has resided in North Jax all of his life. He is a
second-generation music director, serving as
Worship Pastor at Cedar Bay since 2001. His
father, Durwood (deceased) led music for 35
years and also served at Cedar Bay from 1974-
1980. Woody met his wife of 26 years, Debbie,
during that time.
God has blessed them with three children;
Bryan, David, and Emily. All three were saved
and baptized at Cedar Bay, as well as, Debbie.
Volkswagen of America also employs Woody. He is the Facility Engineer and has been
employed there for seven years.
Woody has a passion for music and considers it a great honor to be able to serve the Lord
in this capacity.
Laurie Warren was born and raised in Lorain,
OH then later moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1984
with her Husband, and 6 children. They are also
enjoying 9 granddaughters and 1 grandson.
The Lord has blessed in and through Laurie and
her career at Cedar Bay. She became a
certified ministry assistant in August 2002. She
has completed the American Association of
Christian Counselors training and CareNet (a
pro-life course for working with men & women in
crisis situations) training course.
Laurie’s vision for ministry is very clear and apparent in both her actions as well as her
words. She stands very strong in her beliefs and faith. When asked to give a personal
account of her vision for ministry, she responds by saying, “I believe that the Lord has
brought me through many difficult situations throughout my life, and has put me in this
place at this time, to be used to minister to someone, at sometime in their life, when they
are experiencing the same or similar hard times. I believe He has placed me here “for such
a time as this” and I will continually seek His guidance for my position at Cedar Bay and for
my life, now and in the days to come. The Lord has opened many doors of ministry for me
and I always strive to do my best. I believe that we all ought to strive to be the best in all
that we do for the Lord”.
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint" ~Isaiah 40:31
